Hi Kathryn, can you tell us a bit more about your role at Biofortuna?

I make sure Biofortuna stays fully compliant with all the standards and regulations we work under. That means overseeing our Quality Management System, managing audits, and continuously improving our processes. A big part of my role is also problem solving with the wider team – listening to their challenges and helping turn them into practical improvements that make compliance clear and easy to follow.

What does a typical day look like for you?

No two days are the same.

My days are a mix of reviewing quality metrics, supporting colleagues with SOPs, and preparing for audits. I spend a lot of time listening to issues across the business and helping the team find solutions that improve processes without compromising compliance. It’s a balance of detail and big picture thinking, which keeps the role both challenging and rewarding.

What’s one part of your role that might surprise people?

Many assume compliance is purely about ticking boxes, but it’s actually highly creative. I spend a lot of time designing visual tools – matrices, dashboards, and decision trees – that make complex regulatory requirements clear and practical for teams. It’s about translating legislation into something usable and empowering, not just enforceable.
