Hi Ish, can you tell us a bit more about your experience in this industry?

I’ve spent more than 20 years in commercial leadership across diagnostics, MedTech, pharma and life sciences. I’ve built international commercial teams and partnerships across more than 55 countries and led the launches of some category-first products, including the world’s first COVID-19 Omicron antigen reagent, which was one of those rare moments where you feel the direct connection between a commercial decision and a public health outcome. That through-line using commercial scale as a vehicle for widening access to better healthcare is what has kept me in this industry for over two decades.

What excites you most about working in this field right now?

Diagnostics has never mattered more. The pandemic made that visible to the whole world, but anyone who has worked in IVD has always known it – you can’t treat what you can’t detect.

What excites me right now is the pace at which new assay technologies are being developed, and the genuine opportunity for CDMOs like Biofortuna to close the gap between brilliant science and the patients who need it. Great science doesn’t scale itself, and that’s the problem we solve.

What’s one part of your role that you’re looking forward to the most?

Building the international commercial engine across everything Biofortuna does — and that’s broader than people might expect. The CDMO capability, proprietary lyophilisation, custom assay development and sample management serves the world’s leading IVD and diagnostics innovators.
